Dialogue with the World, Letting Children See the Future
— A Record of the AstraElite International Education Roundtable Forum
On the afternoon of July 25, 2026, on the fifth floor of Zhongda International, South Avenue, Xi'an.
International students from the UK, Ireland, the US, and Canada, alongside two international guests from the US and Japan, and nearly 40 parents and children, gathered to discuss a shared question: How should today's education prepare children for the future world?
This was no ordinary lecture on studying abroad, but an in-depth dialogue spanning different countries and cultural backgrounds. AstraElite hoped to use the most authentic voices to help every family reimagine alternative possibilities in education.

Opening: The World is Rewriting the Rules
At the beginning of the event, the host posed a question:
"I wonder if everyone has noticed that over the past few years, our understanding of the world has been completely transformed. A few years ago, people felt that studying hard, entering a good university, and finding a stable job was what life was all about. But today, AI is restructuring almost all professions, global industrial chains are constantly migrating, and international relations are continuously changing. The world is no longer what it used to be, and education can no longer remain stuck in the past."
These words plunged many parents in the audience into deep thought.
The German philosopher Karl Jaspers once said: "Education is a tree shaking another tree, a cloud pushing another cloud, a soul awakening another soul."
True education is not about packing knowledge into a child's brain, but about enabling them to possess the ability to understand the real world.
Guest Sharing: Voices from the World
Jason
Jason M. Rogers: Young People Must Go Out
Jason Rogers from the United States, who hosted international exchange students in his youth, shared:
"When you are young, you must go out and see the world, and the earlier, the better."
He said that the worldview, values, and outlook on life formed during one's youth often affect a lifetime. When you truly enter another country and live in another culture, you will find that the world is far broader than imagined, and you will become more open, inclusive, and confident as a result.
Jason's experience made many parents realize that international exchange is never simply about learning a language, but about rediscovering oneself and understanding others through the collision of different cultures, thereby gaining a global perspective and mindset.

Voices of Scholars: Growth Occurs Outside the Comfort Zone
Subsequently, students Gao Zongyuan and Zheng Xinyi, who had participated in overseas study programs, shared their personal experiences.
They mentioned that upon first arriving abroad, everyone experiences unfamiliarity, nervousness, and even loneliness. However, true growth happens precisely after stepping out of one's comfort zone.
"Only by proactively opening your heart, communicating bravely, and actively integrating into local schools, communities, and host families can you truly harvest friendships, understand different cultures, and gradually let the world accept you."
They said that the greatest harvest of overseas education is not merely the improvement of English proficiency, but more importantly, learning independent thinking, active communication, respect for differences, and courage in the face of the unknown. These abilities will accompany them through their future lives, rather than just stopping at the university application stage.
Roundtable Discussion: Collision of Five Educational Systems
During the roundtable discussion, international students and foreign guests from the UK, Ireland, the US, and Canada engaged in deep exchanges around several core questions.
About Classroom Differences:
"American classrooms emphasize 'Why?' particularly," said Zheng Xinyi. "Teachers won't tell you the answer directly, but will guide you to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and explore."
"British education values critical thinking highly," added Ma Congqi. "You not only have to present a viewpoint but also must be able to defend it."
Li Xinyi mentioned the cultivation of collaboration skills: "Many of our courses are completed in the form of group projects, and one of the grading criteria is 'whether you can collaborate effectively with others'."
About Competitiveness in the AI Era:
When the topic turned to educational trends in the AI era, the guests unanimously agreed that the truly valuable abilities of the future are not exam scores and standard answers, but the capacity to ask questions, communicate across cultures, create, and collaborate globally.
"ChatGPT can help you write an article, but it cannot take the place of you in building trust with someone from a different cultural background," Jason said.
As a Chinese living in Japan and an outstanding entrepreneur, Ms. Kang Kaiwen said: "In today's world constantly reshaped by AI, what is needed is a broader perspective, stronger judgment, and an environment that enables children to face difficulties bravely and truly grow in an all-round way. No matter which country, in this era, children's academic paths must be understood as early as possible, finding reliable experts in the field to plan the most suitable direction."

About Advice for Parents:
Gao Zongyuan, an outstanding student studying in Ireland, sincerely concluded: "I want to speak to the parents here: if conditions permit, please give your children a chance to go out. It's not for gilding or status, but to let them know—turns out, there are so many other possibilities in life."
Enthusiastic applause erupted in the venue.
Q&A: Real Voices, Real Answers
A mother asked: "My child is currently in the second year of junior high school, with above-average grades. I worry that going abroad now is too early and he won't adapt. What should I do?"
Zheng Xinyi replied: "On my first day of classes there, I couldn't keep up or understand anything at all. But precisely because I couldn't understand, I forced myself to learn, ask, and communicate. Over a month later, I could attend classes normally. In fact, every child is much more resilient than parents imagine."
Another father asked: "In the AI era, is studying humanities dead-end?"
Li Xinyi said with a smile: "I study sociology. AI can analyze data, but it cannot understand human emotions, historical threads, and cultural warmth. The truly valuable ability is to integrate technology with the humanities."

Epilogue: The World is Large, Youth Comes but Once
The event neared its end amidst warm discussions. Parents wanted more, and children's eyes sparkled with curiosity and aspiration.
A mother reflected after the meeting: "Previously, my understanding of international education was just 'studying abroad.' Today, I realized I was wrong. International education is not a question of which country to go to, but a matter of enabling children to possess a 'world vision'."
AstraElite always believes that young people who truly possess a international perspective will undoubtedly have the ability to understand the world, the mind to respect differences, and the courage to constantly explore the unknown.
The world is huge, and youth comes only once.
At the age most suitable for exploring the world, going to see different countries, meeting different people, and experiencing different cultures—this is perhaps the most precious life gift for children.
May more and more young people set off bravely in their prime of youth, head toward a broader world, and meet a better version of themselves.
