On August 9, 2026, the early morning sunlight filtered through the treetops of the Qinling Mountains, splashing onto the lawns of SUMLAND River Island. The sound of wind, birdsong, and the crisp footsteps of youth shattered the habitual silence of this na

tural sanctuary.

The 26th Qinling Low-Carbon Environmental Protection Forum arrived as scheduled.

From an initial conceptual exploration to its continuous execution today, AstraElite has walked this path for a long time, and walked it with solid steps. Centered around ecological protection, low-carbon living, and technological innovation, we have progressively launched a series of exploratory environmental actions, including the Food Forest Project, the Low-Carbon Rocket Stove Project, and the Nature Classroom Project. Edition after edition, we are not repeating; we are putting down roots.

Because the students we wish to cultivate have never been merely test-takers—but rather young people who are willing to explore the world, possess scientific knowledge, care for the environment, and carry a sense of social responsibility.

Morning: Voices of the Youth

At 10:30 AM, the highlight of the forum commenced—keynote speeches by AstraElite cultural exchange students.

The first to step onto the stage was Lyu Zhiyuan, the captain of our Qinling Low-Carbon Environmental Protection Team.

He stood there, speaking unhurriedly for five minutes—about microplastics, how they enter our bodies, and what more we can do. It was not a prepared speech; he truly cared about this matter.

He mentioned that scientists have discovered microplastics in water, food, and the air. When saying these things, his tone was calm, but you could feel he was serious. Serious enough to spend time researching, thinking, and explaining it clearly.

The youngest student, Hu Yudian, chose "Turning Old Items into New Art" as her entry point.

"Every old item hides a memory. Remaking them is not just about reducing waste, but also about continuing new creativity and stories." Her voice was young, but her eyes were firm. Everyone nodded, and someone quietly took out their phone to capture this moment.

We often say that environmental protection should start with children. But actually, children understand this much earlier than we imagine—it is not a task, but a responsibility.

The third to share was Zhang Shuyao. She focused on a very specific issue—the repair of badminton shuttlecocks.

"Giving Shuttlecocks New Life in Cycles, Guarding the Mountains with Green Hearts" was her speech theme. Her attitude of "not letting any single item be discarded lightly" touched everyone present.

Truly valuable environmental reflection is often not about repeating "protecting the environment is important", but about being able to discover waste in daily life, pose questions, and find solutions. Starting from one's own interests, seeing a real problem; starting from a real problem, beginning to think about change.

Zhang Xinyuan, who is about to return to the US for her 12th grade, shared a different perspective. Starting from "how art influences public environmental awareness," she integrated her future major with environmental topics.

This topic highly characteristic of her—not just speaking about environmental problems, but further reflecting on how to make originally distant environmental issues truly seen, understood, and resonated with by more people through art, visuals, and expression.

This year of American high school study also let us see that she is increasingly willing to observe the world based on her own interests. Expression is no longer just completing a task, but beginning to have her own perspective and judgment.

朱(1).jpg

Our tech enthusiast, Zhu Bogaoya. He chose to cut in from "Drones and Environmental Protection," combining the technology he is interested in with real-world environmental problems.

Rather than merely speaking about "protecting the environment," we are more delighted to see him begin to reflect on how technology can truly help us solve real-world problems.

"Drones are not just for aerial photography," he explained while operating his small drone. "In the field of environmental protection, drones can be used to monitor forest coverage, track wildlife migration, and even detect water pollution."

The children gathered in a circle, looking up as the drone orbited, hovered, and turned in the air. The seeds of technology and environmentalism thus quietly fell into their hearts.

At the forum, although the English of students of different ages might not have been perfect and their pronunciation might have had flaws, the courage and seriousness they showed standing on the stage made for the best presentations.

They did not stop at simple expressions like "protecting the environment is important", but after observing real-world problems, tried to propose their own reflections and solutions.

Environmental protection does not necessarily start with grand slogans. We especially hope that AstraElite's youth will always maintain such sharpness: seeing what others ignore, reflecting on what others are accustomed to, and attempting to change things that are "taken for granted."

This is precisely the ability we hope children possess—observing the world, thinking independently, and being willing to speak out for their ideas. Not only learning knowledge, but connecting knowledge with the real world. Having ideas, daring to express them, and being willing to focus on the future.

Afternoon: The Story of the Land and Footsteps of Action

In the afternoon, Gu Yuchen, the owner of the river island who has traveled to many countries, told everyone the story of SUMLAND.

From a barren wasteland to today's vibrant land, behind it lies years of ecological restoration efforts. He introduced that the construction philosophy here respects "harmony between humans and nature" and "restoring the old as old"—not destroying the original natural forms or courtyard styles, not harming a single tree, plant, or flower, and reinforcing safety and elevating art while retaining the original ecology and hardware. The children listened intently, and some took rapid notes in their notebooks.

Subsequently, the children divided into groups for practical work. Some bent over to collect trash along the mountain trails outside the river island, some measured soil humidity, and others gathered to discuss how to make useful items from waste materials. Busy and focused figures were everywhere.

More Than Just This Day

At 4:30 PM, the event drew to a close. A AstraElite member who had participated in multiple editions shared his feelings:

"The first time I came, I just found it fun. Later, I gradually realized that what we do is truly changing things. Now that I am about to go to the US for graduate school, I will also take my ideas and reflections to see how environmental protection is done there and find new inspirations." His words brought comfort to the teachers and parents present. This is precisely the meaning of our persistence with the Low-Carbon Environmental Protection Forum—not making children memorize environmental slogans, but making environmental protection a habit in their bones, a baseline color as they step into the world.

Indeed, over the years, the children participating in the Qinling Low-Carbon Environmental Protection Forum, with their continuous exploratory spirit and practical experience, have entered world-renowned universities including Cornell, Columbia, UC Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon, Rutgers, and Simmons University. Among them, several students received scholarships totaling millions of RMB.

Behind these numbers are vivid youth, one after another. They departed from here, heading toward a broader world, but the wind of Qinling, the trees of the river island, and the afternoon of bending over to pick up trash will always remain their shared coordinates of memory.

Epilogue: To Be Continued

As the sun set, the 26th Qinling Low-Carbon Environmental Protection Forum concluded with a group photo.

Edition after edition, we are not repeating; we are putting down roots.

Thank you to every sincere you.

We believe that these responsible, thoughtful, and forward-looking young people are not only preparing for the future but also gradually learning to participate in and influence this world; and the land beneath their feet will remember every bending figure, every pair of bright eyes, and every sprouting green heart.

In August 2026, departing from Qinling, the children of AstraElite are about to step onto the world stage once again.

Let youth walk with green, and let dreams connect with the future.
